News: Supreme Court hands down long awaited Judgement in the long residence litigation

The Supreme Court has handed down judgment today in two linked appeals- Afzal v SSHD and Iyieke v SSHD. The judgment is the first time that the Supreme Court has dealt with long running issues regarding the correct interpretation of the long residence provisions of the Immigration Rules. The Court also dealt with an important statutory construction point relation to section 3C of the Immigration Act 1971.
